Right to the city and municipal law digest. Possibilities for Ushuaia 2023

Abstract

The convergence in Ushuaia city of two moments, the partial reform of the Municipal Charter and the political discussion for the implementation of a municipal regulatory digest motivates to explore, in terms of perceptions and the Right to the City, the possibilities for the city in the year 2023. The local vacancy on studies of the particular theme and the moment of local political discussion, motivated a quantitative study that was completed by 200 neighbors and they set out to investigate what relationship there is between the perception of neighbors of the city in relation to the right to the city and having a municipal regulatory digest in Ushuaia? The results, although exploratory, motivate an interesting analysis regarding the local transforming perception, rescuing associativity as a transforming element and access to information regarding its need as a precondition for the democratic management of a city. Likewise, questions are raised that can function as triggers for the theme.
