Abstract

Since Javier Milei's electoral upset in Argentina 2023, the libertarian force brought with it a set of symbolic elements appealing to religious dogma, which had been absent between previous political narratives. To investigate the particular conditions of this arrival and the political effects of its fate, this work proposes to take up part of the work of the jurist and political theorist Carl Schmitt. In his long intellectual biography, we find a concept that not only offers hermeneutical tools to read secularization, but also a political philosophical key to think about the fate of the political turns that occur in modernity: it is about political theology.
