Intersections between religion and politics in Mexico

Abstract

The present research adopts a qualitative approach, focusing on the historical analysis of sociological texts and the comparison of the structural evolution of the Catholic religion. A monographic expository text will be developed in order to ensure a fluid and coherent presentation of the concepts addressed.

The study of the organizational evolution of man in society, guided by his own norms, will be carried out within the legal and sociological framework. To do this, the perspective of thinkers such as Max Weber, Plato and Machiavelli will be examined, and it will be contrasted with the structure of the Catholic religion. Fundamental concepts such as State, Politics, obedience, among others, will be highlighted for the sake of a comprehensive analysis.

Special attention will be paid to the context of religious pluralism in Mexico today and the prevailing need for citizens to adapt to the rules and the State, which in turn must guarantee their protection in society.

In the conclusion, the perception will be outlined that the religious phenomenon and the legal-state structure share more similarities than is commonly thought, which underlines the interconnection between both aspects in social and political life, they are not so different.
