The influence of technological media on Generation Z

The research on the influence of technological media on Generation Z aimed to analyze its effects on the behavior, habits, and perceptions of this generation, as well as the potential implications for their personal and social development. A qualitative methodology was used, which involved conducting interviews with 10 young people from Lima Metropolitana. The findings revealed that the vast majority of participants showed a significant interest in using digital tools and managing social media as means of communication. However, there is a strong concern regarding the excessive use of digital media and technological advancements, as it has been observed to have a negative impact on areas such as academic performance and the potential obsolescence of workers in general, due to the possibility of being replaced by artificial intelligence. Additionally, they prefer physical communication due to the close connection experienced through face-to-face interaction, as opposed to the barriers presented by virtual communication. In conclusion, Generation Z demonstrates a great mastery of technology and its derivatives, which provides them with benefits for various activities. However, they are aware of the potential negative consequences if responsible use is not practiced. Some have chosen to use security applications to protect their data and have adopted new habits, such as restricting anonymous calls or messages, setting usage times, and identifying whether the content they share on social media is safe for them.
